This whole not shopping this is getting to me. I'll admit it. It's been hard not to get myself a little something here or there and of course, I'm seeing everything I want. Spring is approaching and I am longing for shorter sleeves, less layers, and sunglasses!
I really blame the shopping craving on:
these AMAZING mules
this retro inspired swim suit
this pair of boyfriend denim
these awesome (!!!) spotted shorts
mmm sweaters
this funky sweater
forever in black (glitter)
PHEW! I'm a wanty lady! I have been trying to go through and clean out my closet and I now have to decide how to get rid of these goodies...I used to have an Etsy shop and I've seen some pretty good "shop my closet" Instagrams, but I'll have to do some more research. Got any good spots?
With the help of my dad's air miles I've booked myself a little trip back south to the desert leaving the husband at home so I can meet up with my gal pal Dawn! I am thrilled we are going back to the Ace for a few days!!
We've agreed that we have to do more than just drink (we have a tendency to just drink all our meals starting the moment we get there). I'm thinking I'll take her to Moortens Garden (you know the one from our wedding).
Anyhow it's sushi happy hour time for us. Update again soon!
xxo

0065 -- an update
Gosh things have been a bit all over the place. I've been working a lot and trying to figure out my place among a growing company and balancing out my personal life-- being newly married, making new friends, and continuing to keep the friends I have. Not to mention still trying to find adventures everywhere!
We've had a lot of fun getting to figure out Portland, our new routines, the best routes to get to the grocery store, and how much ice we cannot walk on. But it goes without needing to say that it's been hard being without our constants and consistent details. We miss our friends, we don't talk to our families as much, and this weather is definitely something new.
Here's some photos of our recent adventures and excursions although, most of them may be in the kitchen...
This past weekend and the end of last week we got our first snow storm and no one warned us that Portland really does shut down. There are no salt trucks here so the snow just stays. People don't drive, and suddenly parks are filled with children and parents shooting down hills on sleds. We found it so fun and magical for a few days, but I'm on day 3 of being out of the office and I'm ready to get back to work.
I'm trying a new "no-spend February" so I'm not doing any shopping of goods other than groceries and house hold supplies. It's been hard I can't deny, but it's been fun putting together little shopping lists for the future. Here's a few of my biggest crushes:
I'll try and get better about updating and posting again...can't promise anything though! ;)

0051 -- saturday on mississippi
This Saturday we celebrated our friend Wesley's birthday by going out day drinking and shopping on Mississippi in north Portland.
We had been twice (although very unknowingly) but not actually walked around much. The first time we went to Paxton Gate which is an incredible taxidermy and natural oddities shop. The other time we went was strictly to eat the biscuits at Pine State (yum)!!
On Saturday we had planned to eat at Por Que No? But it was closed for renovations so we ended up at Bar Bar for burgers and boozies! I had the veggie burger which was incredible!! The bun was out of this world and they even came with my favorite pickles on top! Along with our banging burgers I had one seriously delicious Bloody Mary! Just the perfect way to start Saturday!
From there we went to an awesome thrift, meets knick knack, meets, decorations shop. I believe it was called flutter. Jordan bought me two of my favorite tarot cards there (the 3 of cups and the 3 of swords).
Our next stop was cocktails tails again and this time around a fire pit in the back of Interurban. A few pimm's cups later and we were ready for more thrifting!
Along with thrifting where I finally found the perfect wide brim hat, we did pop into Paxton Gate again so we could pick a piranha for our shelves!!
On the way back to the car before our last bar stop we paused in the most random shop call the Meadow. The shop carries only salts, chocolates, wine, bitters, and a very small selection of fresh flowers. Everything is available to sample and they strongly encourage it. They were very knowledgable and our friends ended up buying the most yummy rhubarb bitters! I can't wait to see what kind of cocktails they create with it!
We ended the evening over at Liberty Glass, a cute little bar with great vegan options and a warm atmosphere! It was a fabulous day and we were so excited to be able to slow crawl and wander into all the shops the area had to offer!!
Update again soon!
xxo.

0042 -- these are a few of my favorite things
because i've been jobless i've been trying pretty hard not to shop. it's been difficult, i can't lie. i broke down this past week and let myself go a little wild and picked up a few new treats!
first i finally replace my leather and python bag that i've been carrying around on and off for the last 7 years! i was very overdue to say the least. i picked up this hansel from basel bag. i'm in love! it's a great size and feels super yummy! i also snagged a pair of super warm wool socks and a little envelope clutch for date nights!

we also popped into bridge and burn the other day over on the south west. i had been looking for this shirt, and was luck enough to snag the last one!!

along with getting myself some new duds i also finally painted my claws since the wedding. i was sad to see my color (and my length) go but this zoya pink is fab and these shorter nails will certainly help for the move in a week!!!

0014 -- bridal shower prep
i'm known to be quite type a and tend to plan things way in advance. with our weekends quickly booking up and trying to make sure we still have time to relax i've been trying to prep for my upcoming bridal shower! i'm not a very traditional gal so i've been having a bit of a hard time knowing how to dress for all these parties. i've been thinking white since it's a bit out of the norm for me and it's definitely screams bride. here's a few that i've had my eye on recently:

available at: zara, free people, free people, wasteland, wasteland

available at: zara, free people, free people, wasteland, wasteland
after much deliberation here's what i ended up with from wasteland and cost me under $60!:
as much as i love the floral crown trend, i just don't think that i've got that sweetness that it takes to pull it off, as well i'm a sucker for playing with my now lavender hair! here are a few accessories i've been thinking of wearing with it:
bracelet from etsy, knuckle ring from etsy, heels from zara, necklace from need supply.
