0003 -- a shoe in review

a few years back i had quite the shopping habit, in fact i don't even know if a you could call it a habit, it was more an obsession. i've gotten better with my habits and find myself really searching for not only good deals, but better quality pieces.

it's hard to find pieces that are both unique, and yet still a bit on trend. i really find myself skipping out on entire trends (like those weird drop crotch pants that seem to be coming back or the fully see through lace hippy pants). the one look i have been a fan of is the cut out bootie. it seems every shoe designer is making one and so i did my homework reading reviews, looking at polyvore and shopstyle every so often.

and even held out the few times i saw some OK ones on sale. finally i found a pair through free people that i had to have even if i wasn't thrilled on their price. finally, yesterday i came home for lunch and found these jeffrey campbell braken ankle booties waiting for me:

jeffery campbell used to be my soft spot. for years they couldn't create anything i didn't love! right around the time i started to shop less their shoes got just a little too crazy (i'm blaming it on those signature gaga shoes by Alexander McQueen, remember those? crazy!) anyhow, back to these perfect boots...they really are perfect, a great soft but structured leather. gold toe, heel, and buckle detailing. just enough toe cleavage to not look weird and the perfect wooden stacked heel. they're going to become my new favorite shoe and really the possibilities are endless!
