0028 -- hearst castle and south big sur

After leaving the CatCamp in morro bay Jordan and I headed north to San Simeon to see the infamous Hearst castle. Sadly I found the tour a bit weak considering the price, but the grounds were just magical! I cannot believe that people actually used to get to stay and play there!!
From there we kept cruising up the coast towards south big sur! We knew we wanted to beach camp since some friends of ours had told us how special it is. We came across Limekiln State Park and campsite 4 gave us nothing but magic!!!
The next morning after sleeping in much later than planned we took a little hike to see the falls and the kilns that give this park it's name.

From there we headed further north into big sur proper to the Henry Miller library and bookshop. SO neat!
I'll leave you here so I can eat my lunch as well, big sur deserves it's own post!

Update again soon!!

0027 -- santa barbara and morro bay

The trip has started lovely and we have been so blown away by how pretty its been. We left LA early yesterday and made it to Santa Barbara by 11 where we met up with CatCamp fam. We walked around state street, which although was cute, was not at all what I was expecting. It was surprisingly warm for the beach, but we enjoyed the surprise!

The CatCamp was all together and so of course good needed to be had so a quick stop over to freebirds was had. Now they had big shoes to fill as I hail from the land of burritos, but I must admit it was damn good!
From there we moved on to our campsite another but north at Morro Bay. Before I say anything more about it, I have to show you:
Our campsite was on the east side of a golf course that was on the ocean. It was stunning! We walked up to the top of a vista that allowed for a killer view of the Morro Bay rock.

We made a dinner of sausages, slaw, rolls, and all the mustards you could need! Dessert was orange rolls (duh Marp was there)!

Update again soon!!

0025 -- what happens in Vegas...

Now I know we're not supposed to talk about what happens in Vegas, but sometimes you just have to! We spent the weekend before our wedding in Vegas with some of our best friends celebrating our impending marriage!
I would tell you about the night at the lounge on Friday or lifting up the guy's kilt on Saturday night, but instead I'll just flood you with photos!!

0026 -- the wedding, visits, and the movingmoon

Ive been terribly busy lately but so many amazing things have been happening, so please excuse my two posts so close together.
First and foremost, we got married on September 14th, woohoo! It was the most perfect day and we really couldn't asked for anything more! We are two very lucky people. Anyhow instead of bore you with the details, here's a few photos:

We spent the following few days visit with Laura and Paul who came out from England for the wedding and their honeymoon!! We had such a blast getting to show them around the city we grew up in, as well as got to give our own little good bye to what we may always consider "home."

It was really hard to let them leave, but we can't wait for future visits and trips!!! With their departure also came the reality of needing to pack up the uhaul. Fortunately it went quickly and rather painlessly although we left behind much more than we had hoped. Along with some boxes we also left our two kitties who seem to have adapted quickly to my dad's house, but we'll miss them for the next several weeks!

Friday night we said good bye to the moms and our friends. It's only then that it really started to hit me how big of a deal this move could be. It also made me excited for the adventures yet to come! Saturday afternoon rolled around and we said our last good byes to my old man and off we went!!! We're currently on what were calling the first day of the movingmoon, somewhere north of Santa Barbara...
