0064 -- the kirby's

Yesh! This post is awfully late, but I've been busy lady and my motivations have been places other than my computer lately.
So how late is this post now...almost a month! Kirby and Katja came up from the warm sunny south (San Diego) to visit us for a weekend. We took them to eat, drink, walk the gorge, and eat some more. Instead of bore you with details, here's some photos!
This champagne drink was great from The Parish!

We had to get Katja some Voodoo Donuts!

Apparently a rock came tumbling down off the side of the waterfall and hit the bridge so we couldn't cross. You can almost see the hole it left! Mother Nature is crazy!
The Ladywife came on our adventures seeing at Stephen was working and 5 bodies in a car keeps it warmer than 4!
It was so windy we thought the Kirbys would fly off the side!

It was so much fun to have them up here and we can't wait to see them again (if it means waiting until August for their wedding)!!! <3 div="">

0040 -- wedding photos!!!

woohoo! last night right as jordan and i were crawling into bed to get some reading/writing done we saw our phones flash with a note from our photographers. we had seen a sneak peek last week but alas, more photos from our first look in moorten's garden as well as our ceremony and reception at the alcazar in palm springs. so without further delay:

we did a lot of this wedding diy and on the super cheap. my maid of honor marissa and one of our photographers, monica helped me make all the bouquets and boutonnieres. jordan's mum then actually took the time to wrap them all with little trimmings from my various dress fittings so everyone was wearing a part of my dress. so special!

we did our first look in a little botanical garden our in palm springs called moorten. if you are ever out there i would strongly recommend going by for a visit. as well if you're about to get hitched i would totally recommend doing a first look to calm your nerves and the photos from it are just some of my favorite of us.

special love to our groomsmen and bridesmaids. they were so helpful getting so much done and keeping the pacing of things. there's no way any of this wedding could have happened without them (especially my MOH and jordan's BM)!

get ready for the mushy stuff...

our reception was held around the pool and we hoped that people would use it as the night progressed because we got married on one seriously hot day (106 at the time of our ceremony)!! fortunately after tacos, cake, and a little booze people were slipping out of their dinner wear and into their trunks and underdoos! i really don't think i could have asked for a better way to end what was easily the best and most special day yet!

i'm so so so in love and just stole all these right from josh and monica's blog post about us. i'll share more as i get them!

0037 -- portlandia

well we landed about a week ago, but of course it's taken me a while to get back online (our pod not being here when we arrived also helped in my delay). portland has been awesome so far, not that we've really done too much other than buy furniture and go look at apartments. it's hard to say what's been the most interesting or fun, but we've thoroughly been enjoying the surprisingly nice weather we're getting at the moment!!

noah has a seriously gorgeous and well curated home, we've definitely been enjoying getting to be here!!

we've really been fortunate to be able to wander around so much. it's my first fall where leaves are changing in front of my eyes so i of course cannot get enough of it!

of course the rain has come a little bit, but that just meant furniture shopping and making some good food with some home grown figs!

now we don't have a place to live quite yet (although keep your fingers crossed for us), but we have found a few pieces of furniture that we've just HAD to have. we're also getting quite spoiled since the prices aren't bad up here either!

here's our set up (and the husband)!

we also lucked out by getting to see our friend Marni!

we also made a big dinner for the roommates (there's 6 of us living in this big house and it's not often that we all get to together) so we decided to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving.
